This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Greater Greenville Mental Health Center, 20 Executive Drive, Greer, SC 29651. Under clinical supervision of supervising physician and programmatic supervision of Medical Director, provide direct patient care and evaluations (PMA’s, etc.) to Adult, Children, and Adolescent Clients within the scope of S.C. Nurse Practitioner authority. Coordinate care, supervise treatment team and provide direct supervision where applicable.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse with official recognition as a Nurse Practitioner by the SC Board of Nursing, practicing in the extended role with prescriptive authority in the state of S.C.
  • Related nursing experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of scientific techniques in interviewing and history taking.
  • Considerable knowledge of health appraisal and laboratory findings.
  • Considerable knowledge of community resources and services and ability to maximize use for patient/family care.
  • Ability to work in close collaboration with physicians and other health disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical assessments, medication management, medication administration and individual treatment to Adult, Children, and Adolescent Clients.
  • Prescribe psychotropic medications according to written protocols.
  • Monitor medication compliance, response, side effects, and outcomes of treatment.
  • Provide leadership for treatment teams and provide guidance and consultation function for nursing staff.
  • Provide backup and consultation to center RN's.
  • Function as an active participant in clinical staffing for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Provide education concerning medication and treatment modalities for patients.
  • Provide phone consultation to patients with medication/treatment issues and questions.
  • Link center patients to appropriate medical and community services when applicable.
  • Order lab work and screens incoming lab work per protocol.
