Nurse Practitioner – Neurology
About The Position
Tidewater Neurologists and Sleep Disorder Specialists (TNI) is seeking a committed, curious, and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join their expanding neurology team. This role offers the opportunity to launch or grow a career in neurology and sleep medicine within a premier healthcare practice known for evidence-based care, advanced diagnostics, and a collaborative team culture. No prior neurology experience is required, as full training is provided. The position involves diagnosing and managing a variety of neurological and sleep conditions, working within a multidisciplinary team, and focusing on patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Active or eligible Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and a natural fit for collaborative, team-based care

Nice To Haves
- Neurology or sleep medicine experience is a plus — not required; we invest in training the right candidate
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive neurological histories and physical/neurological exams.
- Evaluate symptoms related to migraines, neuropathy, seizures, movement disorders, memory loss, and other neurological conditions.
- Review and interpret diagnostic studies, including EEG, EMG/NCS, neuroimaging, and sleep studies.
- Partner with physicians to reach accurate diagnoses and build effective treatment plans.
- Design individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Prescribe and manage medications and therapies, adjusting as clinically indicated.
- Educate patients on their condition, lifestyle changes, and self-management strategies.
- Guide patients on sleep hygiene and management of overlapping sleep-related conditions.
- Conduct follow-up visits to track progress and refine treatment plans.
- Coordinate referrals to subspecialists (epilepsy, movement disorders, sleep medicine) as needed.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered support to patients and families.
- Serve as a trusted, consistent point of contact throughout each patient's care journey.
