About The Position

The Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is currently seeking an Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to fill a unique and impactful role. This position is responsible for conducting weekend medical histories and physical exams (H&Ps) for individuals admitted for crisis stabilization, as well as providing on-call support for medical needs. As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care in a collaborative environment that prioritizes safety and integrity. Your contributions will directly impact the well-being of those we serve, making every day fulfilling and meaningful. In this impactful role, you will conduct medical histories and physical exams (H&Ps) for patients admitted for crisis stabilization, ensuring each assessment is completed within 24 hours of admission. Your responsibilities include providing on-call medical support during weekends, with compensation set at $120 for on-call coverage and $240 for days you conduct on-site H&Ps. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing
  • Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN - FNP) license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing
  • Empathy, active listening skills, and the capacity to think critically under pressure
