This position ensures the assessment of the patient and the direct and indirect care of the patient is delivered in accordance with all appropriate licensing boards, hospital policies, procedures, and all other professional standards. The role involves collecting patient assessment data, performing systematic physical exams and history of present illness, and documenting findings. It requires prescribing appropriate medications, demonstrating leadership, and solving problems using critical thinking skills. The Nurse Practitioner will also function as a resource person, patient advocate, and preceptor for new employees, while assisting in maintaining organizational costs and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. Patient safety, adherence to infection control processes, and participation in performance improvement activities are key aspects of this role. The position also involves managing physical and psychological problems, implementing treatment plans, and evaluating responses to medications and treatments. Collaboration with the supervising physician and the healthcare team is essential for achieving desired outcomes and ensuring a continuous flow of patient care. This includes interviewing, evaluating, and assessing patients, providing recommendations for treatment, and adjusting medications as indicated. Documentation in the medical record is crucial, including mental status, screenings, assessments, medication changes, and telephone contact. The role requires demonstrating leadership, problem-solving independently, and maintaining accountability for actions. Participation in performance improvement activities and ensuring patient safety are also vital. The Nurse Practitioner will perform any and all other duties as assigned and appropriate.
