About The Position

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the assessment of patients and, in conjunction with the physician, utilizes advanced nursing skills to render care to patients primarily within the ICU setting of the hospital. The NP will also assist outside the ICU as directed by the Intensivist. The nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and teaching) will be utilized in providing care.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Successful completion of a Masters in Nursing Program.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• A current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Mississippi as an Acute Care Practitioner.
• 3 years experience as an ICU nurse
• Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to the age of the patients served
• Demonstrate the knowledge/ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.
• Ability to problem solve for patients with complicated disorders
• Ability to interpret physician instructions
• Provide care using standard nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
• Must possess strong and effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience as an NP
• Ability to use Microsoft Applications.
