About The Position
The Laboratory Supervisor provides technical supervision and operational leadership to the department/shift. Uses the established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care. The Supervisor also assumes Technologist responsibilities and patient care during census fluctuations and/or staffing shortages. Responsible for obtaining diagnostic quality results according to pre-established guidelines. Champions and observes time-management techniques according to departmental productivity and efficiency standards while observing a quality patient care experience.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Medical Lab Technology is required.
- Four (4) years of clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing is required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or laboratory science is preferred.
- Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Registration as an MLT/MT (ASCP) or equivalent is preferred.
