About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner educates and advises patients, diagnoses and treats health problems, and provides general health care under the direction and supervision of physicians. The role provides direction to staff regarding patient care and may perform other treatments or procedures after consulting with or under the supervision of a physician.

Requirements

• Active and appropriate state Nurse Practitioner licensure.
• Knowledge of Nurse Practitioner theory and practice, medical care, medical equipment and instruments, and OSHA regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze situations and determine solutions to best serve patients.
• BLS or CPR certification.
• Master’s degree from an accredited school.
• Arrive at work in appropriate and professional attire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to staff regarding patient care.
• Obtain comprehensive patient histories.
• Perform physical examinations.
• Diagnose and treat health care needs and chronic diseases.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as laboratory work and X-rays.
• Assess patients and develop and implement treatment plans approved by a physician.
• Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and counseling.
• Administer medication upon a physician’s order.
• Collaborate with physicians as needed.
• Perform other treatments and procedures after consulting with or under the supervision of a physician.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Arrive at work on time and adhere to the regular work schedule.
• Complete tasks within established time frames and adhere to clinic policies and procedures.
