About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider for our Bariatric department. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. Vincent to provide medical services to patients. This is a part-time position with no call schedule. The provider will be taking care of both surgical and non-surgical patients and should have a passion for wanting to help patients lose weight and get their life/health back.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunization and patient care.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
