About The Position
Medical-Surgical 4 West provides high-quality patient-centered care to individuals with a variety of medical conditions and surgical needs, including patients hospitalized for surgery, illness, testing, and observation with various diagnoses. The unit's mission is to promote healing, ensure patient safety, and enhance recovery through evidence-based practices, interdisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate care. As a Medical Surgical Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC), you will provide care to patients admitted to this unit, many of whom are funneled in from other specialized service lines such as cardiac, telemetry, orthopedics, neurology, critical care, surgical services, and emergency. Success in this role requires enthusiasm to help others with a patient-first mindset, keen assessment skills, critical thinking, and a sense of urgency, thriving in a fast-paced clinical environment where no two days are the same.
Requirements
- Diploma Of Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Nurse: AZ
- Basic Life Support
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors Of Science Nursing
- One year recent acute care experience
Responsibilities
- Deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift
- Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
- Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging
