About The Position

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and professional development of nursing staff, including Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Registered Nurses (RNs), across Prestera Health Services programs. This role ensures high-quality, integrated healthcare by implementing and monitoring nursing standards, policies, and procedures while supporting quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse Manager collaborates with leadership to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and fosters a culture of excellence in care for the individuals we serve. While the scope of responsibilities is broad and varied, key duties include managing nursing functions, hiring and evaluating nursing staff, ensuring continuous quality improvement, and providing direct and indirect support to clinical operations.

Requirements

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work while on a deadline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations as they apply to behavioral or integrated health as well as national accreditation standards.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, previous training and/or related certification.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • At least 2 years of direct management experience and at least 3 years of nursing experience are required (BSN).
  • Must have an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for nursing staff across multiple programs.
  • Develop, implement, and update nursing protocols, policies, and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure effective training and professional development opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of nursing personnel.
  • Provide coverage when necessary to ensure continuity of services.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and leadership to establish and maintain nursing standards of care.
  • Work with Risk Management to review medication errors, address complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify, participate in, and lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations governing nursing practice.
  • Supervise assigned staff, conduct performance evaluations, and manage work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain adherence to confidentiality, HIPAA, and risk management policies, including completing and reviewing incident reports as required.
