About The Position

Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) is seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager to lead and mentor nursing staff in their inpatient psychiatric hospital in Malvern, PA. This leadership role focuses on providing mental health care for children in crisis, empowering them, and contributing to their growth and development. The Nurse Manager will supervise direct nursing staff and oversee daily operations of the nursing team within the program, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, acting as a liaison with treatment teams, managing nursing activities for high-quality services, serving as a resource for nursing and direct care staff, and overseeing the nursing schedule for appropriate coverage and fiscal accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Valid license to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required.
  • Three years (3) of nursing experience in a health care facility, preferably working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and/or psychiatric illnesses.
  • One year (1) of supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office applications and data collecting/analyzing platforms.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task, to maximize efficiency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license must be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well being of the children in our care.
  • Act as a liaison and communicate with the psychiatric, medical and treatment teams.
  • Manage the center's nursing activities to assure the highest quality of nursing services.
  • Serve as a resource to the nursing personnel and the direct care staff to ensure comprehensive service provision and accurate documentation of care.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing management of the nursing schedule to maintain appropriate coverage while supporting fiscal accountability.
