About The Position

The Ivy Street School, part of MAB Community Services, is seeking a compassionate, organized, and collaborative Nurse Manager to support the health and wellness of neurodiverse adolescents and young adults in a highly specialized educational and residential setting. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager works closely with families, clinical staff, education teams, and community healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive healthcare services for students with neurological and developmental challenges. This role is ideal for an RN or LPN who is passionate about student advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and helping young people build independence and life skills. The Nurse Manager oversees day-to-day nursing office operations and supports the coordination of medical and psychiatric care for students at Ivy Street School. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring compliance, maintaining high standards of care and documentation, supporting staff training, and promoting student wellness, self-advocacy, and independence.

Requirements

  • Active RN or LPN licensure
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of related nursing or healthcare experience
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with families
  • Experience managing confidential medical documentation and compliance standards

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Child Life, or related field
  • Experience working with adolescents, neurodiverse populations, special education, residential programs, or behavioral health settings
  • Experience with staff training, medical auditing, and interdisciplinary care coordination

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and Psychiatry team on student care planning, departmental initiatives, and operational goals
  • Audit student medical compliance documentation including physicals, immunizations, screenings, medication orders, and medical records
  • Serve as liaison between the school, families, physicians, and outside healthcare providers
  • Assist in the development and implementation of student medical plans
  • Support interdisciplinary collaboration with education, clinical, and physical education teams to enhance student learning around health, wellness, safety, and self-advocacy
  • Manage day-to-day nursing office operations, ensuring strong documentation practices and policy adherence
  • Coordinate medication administration training and health education initiatives for staff and students
  • Participate in on-call nursing rotation as Nurse on Duty (NOD)
  • Review health-related incident reports and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation
  • Accompany students to medical appointments as needed
  • Facilitate staff and student trainings related to healthcare and medical management
  • Maintain nursing office inventory, organization, and internal auditing systems
  • Attend required trainings, orientations, meetings, and IEP/EEC-related meetings
