About The Position
Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead our high-performing Emergency Department. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Active and unrestricted Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Proven nursing leadership experience in an Emergency Department setting, including roles such as: Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Comparable Emergency Department leadership positions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve operational performance, and drive patient care excellence.
Nice To Haves
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Five (5) or more years of combined Emergency Department clinical and leadership experience.
- Charge Nurse experience with significant responsibility for staff coordination, patient flow, clinical oversight, and operational leadership.
- TNCC certification strongly preferred.
- Strong preference for current or recent experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department.
- Lead staffing, recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management initiatives.
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture that supports employee engagement and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and patient safety standards, including DPH and The Joint Commission requirements.
- Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote high-quality, patient-centered care and exceptional clinical outcomes.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, patient experience strategies, and department performance goals.
- Manage departmental operations, resources, and workflow to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.
- Champion a culture of safety, accountability, compassion, and excellence.
