About The Position

The Vines Hospital, affiliated with Universal Health Services (UHS) and located in Ocala, FL, is a leading behavioral health facility. It provides individualized mental health and addiction treatment to adults and adolescents in a secure and private setting, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, acute psychiatric, detox, and PTSD treatment. The hospital is situated in picturesque Marion County, FL, known as the Horse Capital of the World, offering various outdoor activities and proximity to Florida's amusement parks and beaches. The Nursing Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality psychiatric nursing care for an assigned unit and provides 24-hour management of quality nursing services under the leadership of the Director of Nursing. Key aspects of this role include direct supervision of staff, encompassing hiring, training, and performance management, as well as planning, assigning, and evaluating nursing activities. The Nursing Manager is also tasked with ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, collaborating with other departments on hospital services, and maintaining program policies to foster a therapeutic and safe environment. Compliance with all company policies and procedures is essential.

Requirements

Education: Associate degree in Nursing required.
License: Licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse required.
Skills: Excellent communication skills.
Skills: Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis.

Nice To Haves

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental health field preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor the day-to-day provision of psychiatric and dual diagnosis nursing care
Assists on the unit only as necessary and communicating problems/issues with the Director of Nursing as they occur.
Ensure their assigned unit is properly maintained and organized.
Ensure the unit is kept at an acceptable orderly fashion.
Consults routinely with the Director of Nursing, Program Director, and Medical Director
Provides administrative nursing coverage in the Director of Nursing’s absence
Assures the unit milieu is therapeutic and physically safe and secure at all times.
Address complaints and resolving problems
Ensures timely training to staff regarding revised or new policies or procedures for their assigned staff either individually or scheduled in-services.
Assists in the recruitment and screening for candidates for their department that includes interviewing.
Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
