About The Position
Baystate Health is seeking a Nurse Manager for its inpatient Oncology unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The full-service 23-bed unit provides inpatient chemotherapy, end-of-life care, and care for general medical/surgical and specialty oncology patients. The position combines direct nursing care and clinical leadership with responsibility for staff experience, patient care operations, outcomes, and budget stewardship. The schedule is full-time days, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Successfully pass the Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and hold a Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Five years of inpatient nursing experience required.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation required.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
Responsibilities
- Administer direct nursing care to patients and serve as a clinical resource and role model for clinical excellence.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to foster a positive work environment that supports excellent patient and caregiver experiences.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence on the patient care unit and manage patient progress and care outcomes effectively.
- Manage within budget in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, as demonstrated by metrics.
