About The Position

The Cross –Bay Stad Center for Pediatric Pain, Palliative Care, and Integrative Medicine Nurse Manager leads a highly specialized team. Ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and provision of patient care delivery across the continuum of care for Inpatient and Outpatient Services at Benioff Children’s Hospitals as well as the larger UCSF Health System. This is a Cross-Bay position with oversight of both our Mission Bay (SF) and Oakland locations. Determines objectives, directs programs, develops strategies and policies, manages human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with a high degree of autonomy. Establishes standard systems, policies and procedures, and partners in determining strategies for cross-bay alignment for the three teams within the Stad Center: Pain, Palliative Care, and Integrative Medicine. Promotes environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Accountable for the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Serves as a consultant to senior management, consults and collaborates with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care across the health system. Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others.

Requirements

  • Leadership experience in a specialized pediatric care setting.
  • Experience in patient care delivery across inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Ability to determine objectives, direct programs, develop strategies and policies.
  • Skills in managing human, financial, and physical resources.
  • Experience establishing standard systems, policies, and procedures.
