About The Position

UW Medical Center-Northwest has a leadership opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join our Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within Surgical Services. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION This role partners with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across the perioperative continuum. The Nurse Manager has 24-hour accountability for clinical operations, patient care delivery, staff management, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and patient experience. This position oversees pre-anesthesia patient preparation and post-anesthesia Phase I and II recovery, ensuring effective patient flow, safe transitions of care, and adherence to evidence-based standards. SCHEDULE Full-time days Mon-Fri The Nurse Manager will have direct oversight of more than 45 employees. to include those that directly support the nurse manager and lead practice: Three Assistant Nurse Managers Clinical Nurse Educator The Nurse Manager provides leadership to help build and sustain a foundation of quality and excellence in practice. Requirements

  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license (or ability to obtain)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, with three (3) years of acute care clinical experience in surgical services
  • Previous leadership experience (Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, or equivalent)
  • Will be required to obtain and maintain ACLS certification.
