This position is located at Texas Health Southwest and operates with Core Work hours of Monday – Friday; 8:00a-5:00p. Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork operate as one hospital across two locations, proudly serving Fort Worth, Benbrook, Crowley, Aledo, Granbury, and the surrounding southwest Fort Worth communities since 1987. Our 261-bed, full-service hospital provides convenient access to care for patients across Tarrant County. Our specialties include surgical services, orthopedics, imaging, and adult critical care. We also offer a 24-hour emergency department and are certified as a Primary Heart Attack Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, Level III Maternal Center, Level III Neonatal Center, and a nationally accredited facility for Breast care, as well as Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. Knowledge of industry standards:organization, theory, principles, and research processes, quality improvement and change management techniques, financial analysis, budget process and planning, accreditation and regulatory standards, strategic planning principles, ability to assess nursing care requirements based on nursing principles, scope of practice, and regulatory standards.
Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required
3 Years Experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e., charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor, supervisor) Required
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support with in 90 Days of hire Required
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually with in 90 Days of hire Required
NIHSS - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification with in 90 Days of hire Required

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and delegate activities as required for safe, efficient, and effective operation of the unit including active participation with other hospital departments and leadership to accomplish this purpose.
Provide resources and guidance to support the utilization of evidence based practice standards.
Identify and utilize processes and resources that support optimal delivery of data and information to staff.
Facilitate activities that prepare unit, environment, and staff to meet credentialing bodies requirements.
Identify key drivers in throughput process, evaluate areas role, and develop solutions to barriers.
Plan, manage, patient care processes to improve performance.
Facilitate delivery of quality patient care.
Require documentation that meets hospital and credentialing standards/policy/guidelines.

Demonstrates involvement in professional organization.
Participates in hospital/department/system committees.
Stays current with professional activities.
Alerts appropriate individuals regarding ethical and legal concerns (i.e. Risk Manager, Compliance Officer, Director).
Educates, promotes and evaluates appropriate use of chain of command by staff.
Acts as a role model/mentor.
Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics.
Complies with hospital policies and with Nurse Practice Act.
Active in Reach Out THR and other community activities.
Makes appropriate referrals to Peer Review.
Participates in 360 degree evaluations.
