About The Position

The Nurse Manager - OR is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing process within the Operating Room. This role promotes a positive patient experience and an environment that supports family-centered care. The Nurse Manager builds and retains a talented workforce by developing, engaging, and empowering personnel. Collaboration within an integrated team, sharing information and best practices through a professional governance model, is key. The position contributes to strategic program growth, development, and organizational change, while being accountable for achieving organizational and financial goals. Quality outcomes are achieved through performance improvement processes, utilizing evidence-based practice and research to guide patient care through interdisciplinary collaboration. The Nurse Manager is responsible for self-development and supporting a learning environment, demonstrating progressive leadership and effective management. Ensuring regulatory standards are maintained and displaying commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values are also core responsibilities. Additional duties include performing other tasks as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and adhering to all requirements for the safe and secure maintenance of Protected Health Information (PHI).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) (Required)
  • 3+ years progressive clinical and management experience (Required)
  • Demonstrates skills in human relations, human & material resource management. (Required proficiency)
  • Evidence of ability to provide exceptional nursing leadership. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrates the ability to facilitate change, excellent communication and organizational skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers. (Required proficiency)
  • Able to handle high-pressure situations. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient and employee needs. (Required proficiency)
  • PC and computer applications. (Required proficiency)
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • Certification in clinical or leadership specialty (Required within 1 Year)- CNOR within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • OR RN Leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in orthopedic and urology services lines strongly preferred
