With a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in in leading the Med Surge team. Requirements

Current state RN license
Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
Three years in leadership required

Nice To Haves

ACLS and PALS preferred
Five years in acute care facility preferred

Responsibilities

Provide overall direction and supervision of patient care and nursing personnel on the unit.
Assists with developing specific departmental goals standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and stock supplies.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Performs other duties as assigned.
