Department/Unit Summary Join a cohesive and inclusive nursing team dedicated to excellence in patient-centered care on our 34 bed units. Our Medical Surgical and Telemetry units offers a premier environment to hone your critical care skills and serves as a foundational steppingstone for future careers in Intermediate Care (IMC), Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and beyond. Experience a supportive professional culture that allows you to focus on quality outcomes and professional growth while being supported by a great leaders, CNAs and Unit Secretaries. With a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in in leading the Med Surge team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required up on hire.
  • Five years in acute care facility preferred, three years in leadership required.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction and supervision of patient care and nursing personnel on the unit.
  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
  • Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and stock supplies.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
