About The Position

The RN Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall management of nursing services within CHOR Reading. This role provides clinical leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care. The Nurse Manager oversees medical services, regulatory compliance, staff development, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes for the individuals served.

Requirements

  • Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, behavioral health populations, developmental disabilities, residential treatment, or human services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and other assigned clinical staff.
  • Conduct regular supervision meetings, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the medical and psychiatric health needs of individuals served.
  • Review, implement, and monitor physician orders, treatment plans, and nursing interventions.
  • Assess and respond to ongoing, emerging, and urgent health concerns.
  • Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, program leadership, and external healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and agency regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Conduct chart audits and documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Support incident review, medication management, infection control, and risk management activities.
  • Manage nursing schedules, coverage plans, time-off requests, call-offs, and on-call needs.
  • Ensure adequate nursing coverage to meet program and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor staffing needs and make recommendations regarding workforce planning.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to program staff, families, and stakeholders.
  • Partner with leadership to support program goals, quality initiatives, and employee engagement efforts.
