About The Position

The Nurse Leader (NL) is a licensed registered nurse (RN) accountable for leading, managing & advancing people, processes & / or programs that support direct or indirect patient care. The NL promotes & advocates for patients, nurses / colleagues & the practice of nursing as defined by clinical area (s) of expertise & assignment. Note: “patients” refers to patients, clients, residents, participants, customers, members. The Nurse Leader (NL) II functional role involves managing operations and/or optimization leadership to professional and/or frontline staff, supervisors and/or managers. This role retains accountability for staff coordination, training, hiring, performance, regulatory compliance & results of assigned department(s). The NL II develops departmental plans, including organizational priorities, controls resources, effectiveness & policy formation in area of responsibility, and collaborates with larger teams of health professionals to plan for long-term patient care needs. The operations-focus involves directly managing department(s)/service line, with decisions guided by resource availability as informed by operational need, functional objectives & clinical drivers of the department. This role is responsible for driving outcomes through the daily management of resources and is primarily patient facing. The optimization-focus involves managing an indirect or patient care department/program, where priorities are guided by the operational & clinical needs of patient care areas. This role develops plans in concert with Nursing Operations Managers in support of the department functional objectives & clinical drivers where support is assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice / employment.
  • Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid driver’s license where required by assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Leadership experience & / or other experience / licensure / certifications aligned with area of responsibility & assignment.
