About The Position

The Nurse Manager - DON is responsible for overseeing the clinical team and ensuring exceptional care experiences for residents. This role involves conducting initial assessments, developing care plans, providing direct nursing care, and managing the clinical operations of the community. The Nurse Manager will also be responsible for infection control, medication management, and quality assurance initiatives, while ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Requirements

  • Maintains current state nursing licensure. LPN required, RN preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the readiness to mentor, motivate, and inspire team members
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to serve with love, compassion, and dignity

  • Prior senior/supportive living experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial assessment of prospective residents, including off-site visits
  • Performs wellness assessments and develops individualized care plans based on the needs and preferences of each resident
  • Delivers health promotion services, offers disease prevention counseling, and provides self-care education to residents
  • Approximately 20% of hours will be providing hands-on nursing responsibility and direct care
  • Engages with residents and family members in a compassionate and impactful manner, creating a lasting and positive experience
  • Fosters communication by regularly engaging with physicians, pertinent healthcare providers, and family members
  • Hires, trains, schedules, and leads the clinical team in providing exceptional care experiences
  • Coordinates the Community’s infection control program while maintaining state regulatory compliance
  • Develop and oversee the Community’s medication management program
  • Contributes toward quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Complies with all rules and regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy of resident information
