About The Position

The Nurse Manager - DON is responsible for conducting initial assessments of prospective residents, performing wellness assessments, and developing individualized care plans. This role involves delivering health promotion services, disease prevention counseling, and self-care education. Approximately 20% of the role's hours will be dedicated to hands-on nursing and direct care. The Nurse Manager will also engage with residents and their families, foster communication with physicians and healthcare providers, and lead the clinical team. Key responsibilities include coordinating the infection control program, overseeing the medication management program, and contributing to quality assurance initiatives, all while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.

Requirements

  • Current state nursing licensure (LPN required, RN preferred)
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership and supervisory ability
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and inspire team members
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to serve with love, compassion, and dignity

  • Prior senior/supportive living experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial assessment of prospective residents, including off-site visits
  • Performs wellness assessments and develops individualized care plans based on the needs and preferences of each resident
  • Delivers health promotion services, offers disease prevention counseling, and provides self-care education to residents
  • Provides hands-on nursing responsibility and direct care (approximately 20% of hours)
  • Engages with residents and family members in a compassionate and impactful manner
  • Fosters communication by regularly engaging with physicians, pertinent healthcare providers, and family members
  • Hires, trains, schedules, and leads the clinical team in providing exceptional care experiences
  • Coordinates the Community’s infection control program while maintaining state regulatory compliance
  • Develops and oversees the Community’s medication management program
  • Contributes toward quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Complies with all rules and regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy of resident information
