About The Position

We are seeking a Nurse Manager at Duke Cardiology at Arringdon, located in Morrisville, NC. The Nurse Manager Ambulatory provides clinical and operational leadership for nursing and patient care services in our cardiology ambulatory clinic. This role is responsible for ensuring high standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence in alignment with DUHS policies and service line goals. The Nurse Manager reports to the Practice Administrator to integrate both overall clinic and nursing priorities into operational workflows, promote quality improvement initiatives, and support provider teams. This role actively participates in strategic planning, resource allocation, and change management efforts within the assigned clinics. This nurse manager will have the opportunity to provide patient care while managing a growing team.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN degree.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience with at least one year of leadership experience required.
  • BLS required.
  • Cardiology experience required.
  • Proficient IV placement/skills
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ambulatory or outpatient clinic operations preferred.
  • Experience in Triage preferred.
  • Experience in Stress Testing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and accountability for all clinic practice in the assigned ambulatory clinic(s), ensuring evidence-based standards of care.
  • Partner with operational leaders to align staffing models, workflows, and clinical processes that optimize patient flow, access, and quality outcomes.
  • Supervise and evaluate all clinic staff, including administrative, nurses, medical assistants, and other licensed/unlicensed personnel; ensure competency, performance, and professional development.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and infection prevention standards.
  • Collaborate with physician and APP leaders to support clinical care delivery, patient safety initiatives, and service recovery.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of clinic budgets, including labor and supply costs; identify cost-containment opportunities.
  • Lead quality improvement and population health initiatives, using data to track progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and training for new administrative staff, and ensure ongoing development for existing team members.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for patients, staff, and providers regarding nursing and operational concerns, escalating as appropriate to Practice Administrator or Ambulatory Operations Director.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
