Requirements

  • A certificate of completion from an approved cardiac device technical school that provides a formal curriculum of education and training in cardiac pacing, defibrillation, cardiac resynchronization therapy and electrophysiology OR a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of cardiac pacing or electrophysiology in the ambulatory (outpatient) setting.
  • One (1) year of EP clinical experience as a Cardiac Device Specialist.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Clinical Device Specialist (CCDS) through Heart Rhythm Society within 24 months of hire.
  • Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) certification by International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE).
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and clinical services in the Electrophysiology ambulatory (outpatient) setting.
  • Perform Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) interrogations.
  • Interpret ECG and measured data, evaluate arrhythmia burden, and interpret diagnostics.
  • Program cardiac devices.
  • Report to an EP Provider.
  • Manage patient diagnostics in manufacturer remote monitoring websites.
  • Analyze and manage transmissions.
  • Enter data in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Maintain data integrity with the system.
  • Direct patients to EP Providers when appropriate.
  • Support CIED management under the direction of supervising EP provider, Lead Cardiac Device Specialist and/or EP Manager.
