About The Position
Full-time leadership opportunity with long-term growth Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health to lead operations within a hospital-based psychiatric unit. This role requires a strong clinical leader with proven experience managing a psych unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and team development.
Requirements
- Experience managing a psychiatric unit in a hospital setting
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum 5 years of psychiatric clinical experience
- At least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of CQI, performance improvement, and Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Active New York State RN License (Required)
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- Crisis Management Certification (PMCS, TRUST, or equivalent)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the behavioral health unit
- Lead and support nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards (DOH, JCAHO, etc.)
- Monitor patient admissions, discharges, and care planning
- Drive performance improvement initiatives and quality outcomes
- Prepare reports and maintain clinical and operational data
- Manage staffing, budgeting, and inventory
- Ensure patient care standards and competencies are consistently met
- Provide administrative leadership and coverage when needed
- Implement best practices in behavioral health care
