About The Position

Renovations have started at our new Eye Institute, representing a $100 million investment in our community! Situated in downtown Winston-Salem's Innovation Quarter, this facility will offer easy access, plenty of parking, and approximately 165,000 square feet of space that includes a comfortable waiting area, exam rooms, and surgical facilities. The Ambulatory Surgery Center will feature three operating rooms dedicated to ophthalmologic surgery and three procedure rooms for diagnostic endoscopy procedures. The Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Eye Institute is scheduled to open in 2026, with its first surgical cases anticipated in February 2027. Since opening our current ophthalmology space in 1992, we now serve patients from the Triad, northwest North Carolina, and a five-state region—handling over 100,000 ophthalmology visits each year throughout Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Our team manages everything from routine eye care to complex eye conditions and diseases. As our population ages, the demand for a world-class Eye Institute has never been greater to address both current and future needs of our community and region. Become part of the excitement as the Nurse Manager of the Ambulatory Surgery Center at the new Eye Institute. Working alongside a facility administrator in a dyad leadership model, this nurse manager will oversee about ten direct reports, including an assistant nurse manager. We hope to hire this Nurse Manager soon to assist with BOP, DHHS, DEA, policy and procedure development, workflow design, equipment purchasing, staff interviews, and training.
