Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) or nursing program
  • Successful completion of State Board of Nursing licensure examination
  • Must maintain all continuing education requirements to keep nursing licensure active and in good standing
  • Participates in ongoing learning, professional development, and required in-service training
  • Communicate with professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity
  • Build positive, collaborative relationships with residents, families, and team members
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Remain organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced healthcare setting
  • Work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary nursing team
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Are proficient with electronic documentation systems and healthcare technology
  • Are committed to continuous professional development and quality care improvement
  • Current, active Michigan Board of Nursing License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous LPN/RN nursing experience preferred, ideally in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or senior care.
  • Experience working with geriatric or elderly populations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care and implement individualized resident care plans
  • Administer medications, treatments, and pain management interventions safely and accurately
  • Monitor resident health status, including assessments, skin integrity, wound care, and vital signs
  • Observe, assess, document, and promptly report changes in resident condition
  • Execute physician orders accurately and within required timeframes
  • Maintain accurate electronic health record (EHR) documentation and clinical charting
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and all State and Federal healthcare regulations
  • Respond effectively to urgent and emergent resident care situations using sound clinical judgment
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Lead, delegate, and support CNA and clinical support staff while fostering teamwork and accountability
  • Assist with staffing coverage and provide unit support as needed
  • Deliver comprehensive shift reports to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide exceptional resident-centered customer service by exceeding resident and family expectations
  • Float between units based on operational and resident care needs
