Requirements
- 1 year of the last 2 years, recent experience as an RN in Labor and Delivery, or as an RN in an acute care setting and successful completion of applicable clinical and didactic SRDH specialty training program
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, Post-gynecological and Level 1 Newborn Care
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring
- Registered Nurse: NV
- Basic Life Support - CPR - American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program - NRP
- Quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
Nice To Haves
- 3 years of the last 5 years recent experience as an RN in Labor and Delivery or equivalent in a setting with 100 births/month.
- Bachelors Of Nursing
Responsibilities
- Triage walk-in patients to determine labor status or false alarms.
- Support laboring patients with interventions such as induction, epidural assistance, pain management, and fetal monitoring.
- Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligations, cerclages, and emergency procedures.
- Educate patients on medications, exams, procedures, and stages of labor.
- Assess and provide care for newborns immediately after delivery.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team, including physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, lactation nurses, charge nurses, postpartum staff, patients, and families.
