About The Position

This is a Nurse Intern position at Via Christi St. Francis, a facility of Ascension, located in Wichita, KS. The role is in the General Surgery and Trauma Acute Care specialty and is a PRN night shift position. Via Christi associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through their academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
High school diploma/GED required.
Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

Nice To Haves

Currently pursuing a nursing degree through an accredited ADN, BSN, or MSN program.

Responsibilities

Support patients' well-being by assisting with activities of daily living and accurately monitoring vital signs.
Observe patient status and responses firsthand, documenting and reporting observations to the preceptor.
Assist the preceptor in developing comprehensive care plans using reports on test results and patient observations.
Take an active role in the flow of the department, including preparing and transporting patients for diagnostic services and ensuring a safe, clean environment.
