About The Position

The Nursing Intern must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assist with the collection of data for objective assessment, and to identify the needs and requirements of the patient and report to the charge nurse/team leader. They will act within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse. The Nursing Intern works under the direct supervision of an assigned RN preceptor who reports directly to the charge nurse/team leader.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current enrollment in an RN program (ADN, BSN, or Paramedic to RN) and within 12 months from graduation.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Official transcript from current nursing program.
  • Successful completion of hospital orientation.
  • Official transcript turned in from your current nursing program with cumulative GPA. If GPA less than 3.2, a 500 word essay required stating what makes the applicant an exceptional candidate.
  • New Hires: Two letters of reference from two of your RN program instructors; one letter MUST be from a Clinical Instructor. Current Bothwell Employee (Transfer): Two letter of references from your RN program clinical instructor and current unit manager/director.

  • Copy of High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Copy of current BLS certification.

  • Proof of personal malpractice insurance.
  • Demonstrates support for organizational and departmental mission.
  • Supports and demonstrates knowledge of the Strategic Plan and the Hospital Key Initiatives.
  • Fosters and promotes teamwork within department and the organization as a whole.
  • Works to resolves conflicts constructively and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and simply with every customer and co-worker.
