Under the general supervision of the Director, Clinical Manager, Preceptor, and Charge Nurse, the Nurse Intern is responsible for providing patient care and assigned procedures for assigned patients. This role requires the employee to be subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital. This position is for individuals in the senior year of coursework of an accredited nursing program. Employees in a Nurse Intern role must remain in the position for a minimum of 12 months before being eligible to apply for internal transfers within West Tennessee Healthcare, unless they graduate from an accredited ASN or BSN nursing program and are eligible for a Graduate Nurse position. Exceptions to the one-year requirement may be made only under extenuating circumstances, with written approval from both Human Resources and the department’s leadership team.
