About The Position

The Nurse-Family Partnership Nurse Home Visitor is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to women and their families eligible for the NFP Program. Nurse Home Visitors are pivotal in transforming the lives of vulnerable babies, mothers, and families by implementing and maintaining fidelity to the model. This is a community-based position where the nurse visits parents in their home or community location. The role involves sharing resources, performing health checks, and partnering with first-time expectant parents during pregnancy and until the child is two years old. The NFP Nurse will carry a caseload of 25-30 clients. Extensive model training is provided by the NFP National Service office, along with ongoing reflective supervision with site supervisors. Travel is required within New Castle County for visiting families, attending training and meetings, and adhering to company and program guidelines. The position offers the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Requirements

Must be a registered nurse with a minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing, with a current RN license (in good standing).
Experience in public health, community, and/or maternal-child health, required.
Current CPR required.
Must have a valid driver’s license, which meets the requirements of the agency’s insurance carrier.
Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills required
Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with others, including people of diverse cultural backgrounds and ethnic groups.
Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, and community.
Ability to help others learn through a variety of methods
Knowledge of community resources.
Ability to work independently as well as a member of the team.
Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office.
Must have valid driver’s license, which meets the requirements of the agency’s insurance carrier.

Nice To Haves

Experience with labor and delivery, desirable.
Home visiting experience preferred.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish), desirable.

Responsibilities
