About The Position

The Nurse Extern provides expanded clinical experience for senior professional nursing students and assists Registered Nursing staff with patient care activities. The role participates in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, and reports significant observations to a Registered Nurse. It involves collaboration with multidisciplinary team members to provide care in a highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging nursing environment.

Requirements

• Be a senior in an accredited professional school of nursing.
• Provide verification of CPR on hire, or successfully complete an American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider course during the probationary period.
• No work experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities.
• Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation.
