About The Position
The Nurse Extern provides expanded clinical experience for senior professional nursing students and assists Registered Nursing staff with patient care activities. In a highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging nursing environment, the Nurse Extern collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide high-quality patient care. The role includes participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, and reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse. The position is with the Intermediate Care Unit at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, a 294-bed acute-care hospital serving North Texas. The hospital provides services including Level III Trauma, NICU, and Maternal Care, and is recognized for nursing excellence and patient care.
Requirements
- Be a senior in an accredited professional school of nursing.
- Provide verification of CPR on hire, or successfully complete an American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider course during the probationary period.
- No work experience is required.
