About The Position
As a Nurse Extern, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your contributions will directly impact patient safety, comfort, and overall experience. This position is ideal for nursing students looking to gain hands-on experience in an acute care setting while advancing their education and career in healthcare.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent OR currently enrolled in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program with completion of two clinical rotations.
- Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing with completion of two clinical rotations, including one in Med/Surg (acute care setting).
- Current Health Care Provider Certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing direct patient care to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision.
- Participate in the nursing process by offering input to help plan and implement patient care.
- Respond to emergent situations according to established protocols.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance nursing skills.
