About The Position
The Nurse Extern provides patient-centered care in the Intensive Care Unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role supports patient safety, comfort, and well-being by assisting the nursing team, contributing to care planning and implementation, and responding to emergent situations according to established procedures. The Nurse Extern also participates in continuing education to develop nursing skills and knowledge. The position is based at Henry Ford Health’s Rochester campus. The listed schedule is 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; the job is contingent.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, or current enrollment in the Henry Ford Health Early College Program with completion of two clinical rotations.
- Enrollment in an accredited school of nursing and completion of two clinical rotations, including one in Med/Surg in an acute care setting.
- Current Health Care Provider Certification.
