About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role requires a minimum of 2 years of direct ICU experience, with a preference for 4-5 years. The ideal candidate will have experience in specialized ICUs such as SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU. Travel nursing experience is mandatory and must be clearly documented on the resume. Proficiency in EPIC EMR and experience with CRRT and Prismaflex are essential. Candidates with cardiac experience will be prioritized. The role involves floating to other units as needed, excluding Behavioral Health and the Emergency Department (unless the ED is holding patients).

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU.
• Travel nursing experience required and documented on resume.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• NURSYS license verification report showing an active New York RN license and all active RN licenses.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex required.
• Valid Driver's license with an address matching the candidate's demographics.
• Must include requested time off (RTO) at the time of submission.

Nice To Haves

• 4-5 years of ICU experience preferred.
• Cardiac experience highly preferred.
• Experience with NxStage.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Manage patients with complex diagnoses including strokes, sepsis, altered mental status, neurointerventional procedures, respiratory failure, congestive heart failure, post-STEMI patients, cardiovascular surgery, cardiogenic shock, abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery, trauma patients, and major postoperative surgical patients.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment such as Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) machines (Prismaflex or NxStage), Ventriculostomy, Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and Targeted temperature management (TTM) devices (e.g., Arctic Sun).
• Float to other units as required, except for Behavioral Health and the Emergency Department (unless the ED is holding patients).
• Ensure all required documentation, certifications, and license verifications are up-to-date and submitted.
• Utilize EPIC EMR for patient charting and management.
• Administer specialized therapies like CRRT.
