About The Position

Jefferson Health is hiring a full-time Nurse Extern for its Telemetry unit at the Jefferson Einstein Philly hospital. This role is part of a mission to improve lives and involves performing specific tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Nurse Extern demonstrates accountability for assigned patients, seeks learning opportunities, and carries out routine patient care assignments and established nursing procedures under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or a Registered Nurse.

Requirements

Must be able to work full time hours.
Student currently enrolled in an accredited college of nursing.
Successful completion of Fundamentals in Nursing.
Completion of at least one medical surgical clinical rotation.
Completion of clinical skills lab from an accredited professional nursing program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Extern will carry out routine patient care assignments, work in controlled care situations, and perform established nursing procedures for individuals or groups of patients.
