About The Position

The Nurse Extern II provides expanded clinical experience for senior professional nursing students and assists Registered Nursing staff with patient care activities. The role participates in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, and reports significant observations to a Registered Nurse. The extern collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to support care for med-surg patients in advanced facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited RN program.
• Actively taking steps to obtain an RN license.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide expanded clinical experience for senior professional nursing students.
• Assist Registered Nursing staff with patient care activities, including participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation.
• Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide care for med-surg patients in facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
