About The Position

Venesco, LLC is seeking a Nurse Educator to assist on a contract with a federal government client in Dayton, OH. This position requires US Citizenship. The contractor will provide educational/training support to the USAFSAM En Route Care Training Department at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The role involves supporting aeromedical evacuation, advanced critical care, trauma, and infectious disease training for DoD medical personnel, ensuring courses meet academic standards, operational needs, and wartime readiness requirements. The position requires extensive knowledge of nursing care theories, principles, and practices, with a strong critical care clinical background to address healthcare challenges. The Nurse Educator will coordinate program start-up, monitor training effectiveness, manage continuing education credits, and provide feedback to AF/SG Consultants and Career Field Managers. They will also determine resource requirements, coordinate curriculum development, consult on training standards, and analyze training data to identify shortfalls and barriers. The role involves presenting complex information clearly and aligning work with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted licensed Registered Nurse with professional certification in clinical (e.g., Certification Emergency Room Nursing (CEN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or education specialty is required.
  • Requires a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and at least 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Knowledge of emergency room patient management and trauma health principles.
  • Knowledge of trauma clinical nursing skills, procedures, processes to include: Joint Trauma Service and Air Force Medical Service Clinical Practice Guidelines, and educational delivery methods preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable Air Force and professional standards is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of military and civilian guidelines that govern policy and procedure, successful completion of USAFSAM's and Department's orientation programs is required (After 60 days of hire).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Emergency Room/Critical Care medicine to include deployment patient medical management care experience.
  • Management experience is required.
  • Minimum of 12 months of experience within the last 36 months working in an inpatient Intensive Care Unit (ICU) environment.
  • Shall have the knowledge/experience/understanding of Comprehensive Medical Readiness Program, Training Affiliation Agreements, nursing competencies, and obtaining continuing education units.
  • Experience with prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with government contracting firms supporting the Federal government.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information within and external to Venesco, LLC., using own judgment.

  • Ability to quickly develop understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides current and future educational/training support for all faculty assigned to USAFSAM En Route Care Training Department.
  • Ensures all USAFSAM En Route Care Training Department courses meet academic standards, operational needs, and wartime readiness requirements.
  • Utilizes knowledge of an extensive range of nursing care theories, principles, practices, procedures, and has extended Critical Care clinical training background/experience(s) to solve both administrative and professional health care problems/challenges.
  • Coordinates all aspects of program start-up, ongoing reporting and monitoring of training effectiveness.
  • Develops, performs, and monitors conferment of continuing nursing and medical education credits.
  • Maintains and assists with program changes and provides regular feedback to AF/SG Consultants and Career Field Managers (CFM) through the Comprehensive Medical Readiness Program (CMRP) to ensure program reliability and continuity.
  • Provides input into medical policy development for AFI 41-106, Air Force Medical Readiness Program.
  • Determines resource requirements and coordinates curriculum development at the En Route Care Training Department’s current and future training sites.
  • Consults with Surgeon General’s (SG) clinical consultants and CFMs concerning professional and paraprofessional training standards and educational goals.
  • Engages with leadership and cadre members at training sites to use new/existing resources more efficiently and suggests innovative ideas to optimize training experiences.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes training site data to develop reports that allow leadership to understand training shortfalls and program implementation barriers.
  • Completes periodic review on data collection and updates data collection tools/methods for reporting purposes to provide accurate analyses of program development and success.
  • Collects and consults appropriately to develop objectives and priorities that meet all suspenses.
  • Presents complex information, concepts, processes and ideas, that are clear, concise, well-organized, and carries out work that is well aligned with USAFSAM organizational goals.
