Nurse Clinician - Genetics Metabolism
About The Position
Under the general supervision of the manager for the specialty area, the Nurse Clinician participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide consultative nursing services within a clinical area of specialization. The role serves as a patient advocate, provides emotional support and home-care instructions to patients and families, provides ongoing education to staff and the community, and supports implementation of outreach and outpatient programs. The position is with Children’s Hospital of Michigan, an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine. The hospital provides a range of surgical and advanced diagnostic services, as well as pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal care across its hospital and associated sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan.
- At least two years of clinical nursing experience, including one year in the area of specialization.
- For a pediatric setting, two to three years of pediatric nursing experience, including one year in the area of specialization.
