About The Position

The Nurse Clinician III (NC III) position in Interventional Radiology (IR) is a PRN role, working up to 19.99 hours per week. This position's primary responsibility is to provide coverage for the IR Patient Navigator when they are on paid time off or out due to illness. The role involves coordinating care for IR patients and requires close collaboration with the Interventional Radiology Faculty for the UTMB system. The position may also require floating to other campuses (CLC, LCC, or ADC) as needed. The NC III is a competent clinician with knowledge and skills meeting the standards for professional nursing practice as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act. They are experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled in their specialty area, functioning competently as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Their practice is characterized by predominantly interdependent decision-making, is problem-focused and patient-centered, and enables them to manage unexpected or emergency situations common in their specialty population. The NC III serves as a resource for Nurse Clinician I or II and can manage commonly encountered contingency situations on the clinical unit. They provide patient care based on the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance, valuing specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.

Requirements

RN with two years of clinical RN experience.
Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
Current BLS required.
RN license.
BLS certification.

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the daily care of assigned patients.
