This position serves as a Proficient Clinician in an Outpatient Ob/Gyn setting. The Nurse Clinician III possesses the knowledge and skills to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. This role requires experience, knowledge, and skill in the specialty area, functioning competently as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Practice is characterized by predominantly independent decision-making, is problem-focused and patient-centered, and capable of managing unexpected or emergency situations commonly seen in the assigned specialty population. The Nurse Clinician III serves as a resource for Nurse Clinician I or II and can manage commonly seen contingency situations on the clinical unit. Patient care is provided through nursing practices based upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance, valuing specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.
