About The Position

This role is for a passionate behavioral health nurse who enjoys supporting individuals in their re-engagement and development as community members. The position involves working with adults, engaging them in their recovery, and providing health education and medication services. The nurse will build effective relationships with clients, making a real impact on a vulnerable population involved in the correctional system or experiencing severe and persistent mental health issues. The role offers a flexible schedule with no mandated overtime or weekend shifts, allowing for a focus on mental and career health. The nurse will work directly with clients to improve their ability to function, meeting them where they are to provide education, connection, and assistance in a challenging and rewarding setting. Additionally, the role involves contributing to the growth and development of nursing and support staff, using change strategies to drive quality outcomes, and developing leadership skills. The position also supports the effectiveness and growth of the nursing division through supervisory experience with co-workers and contributions to quality improvement, program growth, and care delivery by the nursing team.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in Colorado or the ability to be licensed in Colorado at time of hire
  • One year nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) -OR- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with community mental health experience
  • Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate at time of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant Mental Health, Community Nursing or Nursing Supervisory experience
  • Nursing experience in another nursing discipline and are looking for a change without leaving nursing, we offer Training, Education, and On-the-Job support.
  • Experience working with adults on probation and/or with Severe and Persistent Mental Health (SPMI) needs; or are strongly motivated to learn
  • Natural curiosity, high emotional intelligence, and substantial tolerance for ambiguity
  • Strong experience managing complex client situations, health concerns, and nuances
  • Basic knowledge of recovery-focused nursing services related to the safe and appropriate administration of behavioral health treatment in a Community Mental Health Setting
