About The Position

This position serves as the Clinical Application Coordinator (CAC), providing an advanced level of competence in nursing involving direct nursing care and/or developing innovative nursing techniques, practice, and approaches. The position is located in the Division of Clinical Services at the Crownpoint Service Unit (CPSU) in Crownpoint, NM. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Requirements

  • Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.
  • Financial Suitability Requirement: This position requires a review of the applicant's financial history as part of the personnel security and suitability determination.
  • A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
  • Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
  • Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
  • Possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least one (1) or more full years of professional nursing experience equivalent to a GS-11.
  • Experience in implementing, analyzing, coordinating and evaluating multi-service clinical software applications in a hospital or clinic setting; providing advanced nursing care and developing innovative nursing practices; evaluating and resolving program failures following software patches and updates; and teaching and training end-users on clinical applications.
  • Experience using clinical information systems and automation tools to improve workflow, support clinical decision-making, and enhance the quality and safety of direct patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a specialist and integrator for implementation, training, customization, and ongoing support of multi-service clinical applications supporting the IHS EHR and RPMS.
  • Plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates software programs and resolves integration issues.
  • Provides comprehensive nursing care, including patient assessment, preparation for tests and treatments, triage, and emergency care.
  • Collaborates with IT staff and application coordinators to implement integrated packages, resolve conflicts, provide support, and ensure efficient system operations.
