About The Position

Dignity Health - Mercy San Juan Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality, individualized care in an acute-care setting. The RN performs assessments, plans and implements care, evaluates patient outcomes, provides education, and carries out procedures and interventions appropriate to the assigned unit. The role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and accurate, timely documentation using the computerized documentation system. The RN is also accountable for their decisions and behavior, follows facility leadership direction, helps orient new staff and ancillary personnel, mentors students, and serves as a resource to staff in other nursing departments.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of acute-care RN experience.
• Current California RN licensure.
• Current American Heart Association BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform a total body and system assessment each shift or visit according to unit standards.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, and provide patient education.
• Use technology, procedures, protocols, standards, and interventions specific to the assigned unit.
• Complete legible, timely, concise, and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures.
• Use the computerized documentation system proficiently and competently.
• Accept responsibility and accountability for personal decisions and behavior.
• Recognize, accept, and cooperate with direction from facility leadership.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and ancillary personnel.
• Mentor students constructively and positively.
• Serve as a resource to staff from other nursing departments.
