About The Position

The Clinical Equipment and Project Nurse functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the Emergency Room whose primary responsibilities are that of a clinical, technological and educational focus. This role ensures equipment and supplies are properly maintained and functioning, and maintains an excellent knowledge of departmental standards, policies, and operation procedures. The incumbent integrates skills and knowledge from theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct patient care, clinical coordination, clinical problem solving, education and research. They provide leadership that is visible, pro-active, and promotes the delivery of safe patient care through the application of practice standards. In consultation with the Manager of Emergency/Ambulatory Care, the individual is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, and implementing and evaluating designated educational activities/programs. The incumbent will use a consultative approach and research findings to support healthcare professionals in planning and implementing educational needs. They will collaborate with clinical nurse educators and other healthcare providers to plan and implement ongoing training programs for clinical patient care staff. The incumbent will also assist in the development and implementation of clinical policy and procedure.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years ER nursing exp directly related to the duties and responsibilities
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer applications
  • Knowledge in applicable best practices and principles for the clinical area

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification or exp with clinical information technology programs
  • Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale certificate (CTAS)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the clinical nurse educators and any other health care providers whose experience and/or knowledge will aid in the planning and implementation of on-going training programs for clinical patient care staff.
  • Assists in the development of clinical policy and procedure development and implementation.
